Piano- With the leaving of Elder Sorensen, my last companion, came the responsibility of playing the piano during sacrament meeting. My new companion Elder Song and I both have a basic understanding of playing the piano. We've definitely had to put in a lot of practice these past two weeks. Every time we are waiting at the church we're on the piano. My companion does two of the hymns and I do the other two. The first week was a disaster. Yesterday was passable. My companion said that he had been praying to have the opportunity to learn the piano, then he got the call to transfer to Tongyeong with me. On my part I did no praying to have the opportunity to learn piano. I guess that's just how life works though.
Last week I told you about the guitar guy. The video I attached is our visit with him. He's a really nice guy. In his teenage years (His name is MR. Lee) he told us that he became obsessed with guitar music. He can play Elvis and songs by the Beetles. It was really fun talking with him.
This week our Bishop asked us to put together a list of names from our area book to make a prayer list. He requested about a hundred names. In all honesty I really didn't want to make this list. I didn't think that it would be a good use of time. Since doing the list though and thanks to the prayers of the members we have began to see a lot of success among past investigators. My companion have been going over past records and calling contacts and investigators. Many people have showed interest and we have been building up our investigator pool.
One of those people was Huang Jongmin. He is about thirty years old and is a great guy. He use to attend a church but has been too busy with his job. Lately he has been thinking a lot about God. It was a good reminder of how God's hand is in this work.
I love serving here. I'm excited to see what other miracles God has in store for me in my last two months as a missionary.
Love,
Elder Harkness
