Breaking into our church. Darn keys.
It has been so rainy lately. Back in Utah I really liked the rain. Unfortunately as a missionary it makes talking to people on the street so much harder. Oh well. The beautiful spring cherry blossoms are making up for the drizzle. Korea is really a unique place. All of the mountains and hills make it impossible to ever fully escape the forest. Even serving in the second largest city in Korea.
Speaking of the rain, we've been meeting two middle aged women with the sister missionaries and teaching English for about thirty minutes and spending another thirty minutes on the gospel. One of the women talked about how she has viewed God and religion since she started meeting with us. She said that us teaching her is a bit like going out into the rain when it's just sprinkling. She didn't think that she would get too wet but little by little it's built up. She said that she likes and thinks about the gospel more and more. In her words, "I feel like my mind is becoming more open to religion." (She speaks English super well) Personally I hope that the gospel soaks her.
In my personal study I came across DC 121:45 where it talks about the power and doctrine of the priesthood distilling on souls like the dews of heaven. I had a fellow missionary tell me that it's just like when you go camping and you wake up and everything's drenched. But instead of being cold and annoying it's magnificent. The power and knowledge of God give us so much peace and happiness in our lives. Also like camping that dew can be lost in a short amount of time. It only takes one hot afternoon for all of the dew to be gone. In our lives we need to hold on to our spiritual knowledge by continually searching for more.
Love you all,
Have a nice week,
Elder Harkness
